Tata Technologies Volunteering Program at New English School, Marunji

On 6th May 2025, a volunteering program was successfully conducted at New English School, Marunji. Eight enthusiastic employees from Tata Technologies participated in this initiative, engaging with students in exciting hands-on activities. The event was an inspiring example of how corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, coupled with hands-on volunteer efforts, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and the broader community. Before we dive into the inspiring tale of Tata Technology’s volunteer engagement program, let’s cast the spotlight on the organization itself.

Volunteering Program: The Volunteers in Action

Eight enthusiastic employees from Tata Technologies participated in this initiative and created a  Greeting Robot while engaging with the students. During the session, students gained valuable exposure to key STEM concepts, including circuit connections, basic coding, Arduino programming, sensor integration, and robot body construction using craft materials. The interactive format allowed students to learn directly from industry professionals, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.

Additionally, the volunteers visited the STEM Tinkering Lab established by the India STEM Foundation. They were highly impressed by the innovative student projects and appreciated the impactful implementation of the lab.This collaboration provided students with a unique opportunity to explore technology in a practical setting.

Empowering Students with 21st-Century Skills through STEM Tinkering Labs

STEM Tinkering Labs are dedicated spaces equipped with resources and tools that facilitate hands-on, project-based learning in STEM subjects. These labs provide students with the opportunity to engage in practical experimentation, problem-solving, and innovation, thereby enhancing their understanding of scientific concepts and technological applications.

By interacting directly with the students, the volunteers were able to understand the real-life impact of their contributions to the Robo Siksha Kendra. More importantly, they witnessed the immense potential that these young minds possess when given access to high-quality education and resources. While interacting with the students, Tata Technologies’ volunteers emphasized how the skills they were learning now would be applicable in almost every field they might choose to pursue in the future, from medicine to manufacturing, technology to sustainability. 

India STEM Foundation

India STEM Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and fostering innovation and creativity among students. Through various initiatives and programs and a goal to make STEM Education accessible to all,  India STEM Foundation is nurturing the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers, making India Future-proof and Future-ready. By reaching 2000+ schools and having engaged 530k+ students and teachers across India, India STEM Foundation has successfully delivered 6 Million hours of STEM Education so far and aims to continue creating the impact.
