Our STEM Club Tinkering Lab was inaugurated on 4th February 2026 at Motilal School, Chennai, with support from NTT Data. The inauguration took place in the presence of Gopa Kumar, Vice President, NTT Data, along with NTT Data employees and members of the school management. The initiative aims to strengthen hands-on STEM learning and encourage innovation-driven education among school students.

The newly inaugurated STEM Club Tinkering Lab has been set up to provide students with access to practical learning tools and an environment that promotes experimentation, creativity, and problem-solving. The lab is designed to enable students to work on real-world projects and gain exposure to concepts related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through experiential learning.

The inauguration ceremony was followed by an employee volunteering program, during which NTT Data volunteers actively engaged with students in hands-on project activities. As part of the session, students and volunteers collaborated to create an automated lamp using LED and LDR sensors. The activity introduced students to basic electronics and automation concepts, helping them understand how sensors respond to environmental changes and control electrical outputs.
The employee volunteering session provided students with an opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals, gaining insights into practical applications of technology beyond textbooks. Volunteers guided students through each step of the project, explaining the function of components and encouraging students to troubleshoot and refine their designs. The interactive format of the session helped foster curiosity, teamwork, and critical thinking among participants.
School representatives highlighted the significance of the STEM Club Tinkering Lab in enhancing the learning experience for students. According to the school management, the lab will serve as a dedicated space for students to explore STEM concepts through regular activities, projects, and workshops. The hands-on approach adopted through the lab is expected to complement classroom learning and build foundational skills relevant to future academic and career pathways.
