Manager | Fundraiser

Overview:

As a Fundraising Manager for our nonprofit organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives to support our mission and programs. You will play a key role in identifying and cultivating relationships with donors, securing funding from various sources, and managing fundraising campaigns and events. This role requires a strong understanding of fundraising principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for making a positive impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Fundraising Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans aligned with the organization’s goals and financial needs.
  • Identify and prioritize fundraising opportunities, including individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.
  • Research donor prospects and funding opportunities, and develop strategies to engage and solicit support from potential donors.

2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, supporters, and key stakeholders through regular communication, meetings, and events.
  • Develop personalized cultivation plans for major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and stewardship.
  • Acknowledge and recognize donors for their contributions, demonstrating appreciation and providing regular updates on the impact of their support.

3. Grant Writing and Proposal Development:

  • Research grant opportunities and prepare grant proposals, applications, and reports in collaboration with program staff and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines, and maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and outcomes.
  • Cultivate relationships with foundation representatives and program officers to enhance grant-seeking efforts and maximize funding opportunities.

4. Fundraising Campaigns and Events:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns and events, such as annual appeals, online giving campaigns, galas, and donor appreciation events.
  • Develop marketing materials, fundraising appeals, and event collateral to promote participation and support.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers, staff, and vendors to support fundraising activities and events.

5. Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Monitor fundraising performance against goals, budgets, and timelines, and analyze key metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, board of directors, and donors, providing updates on fundraising activities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with finance staff to ensure accurate recording and reporting of donations, grants, and fundraising expenses.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or related field; advanced degree or certification (CFRE) preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in nonprofit fundraising, with experience in individual giving, major gifts, grant writing, and event planning.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective fundraising plans and campaigns.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization and the nonprofit sector.
