STEM Club Lab Launched in Bengaluru with NTT Data

A new wave of innovation swept through Bengaluru as the STEM Club Tinkering Lab was officially inaugurated at Nethaji High School, on 6th February, 2026. The day marked more than just the opening of a lab, it celebrated the beginning of a hands-on learning journey where imagination meets technology and ideas transform into real-world solutions. With the support of NTT Data, the inauguration brought together the CSR team, employees, and the school management in a shared commitment to empowering young innovators.

Located in the vibrant city of Bengaluru, known as India’s technology hub, the lab’s launch felt especially meaningful. It connected young learners directly to the spirit of innovation that defines the city. The presence of the CSR team and employees underscored a shared vision: equipping students with the tools and exposure they need to become tomorrow’s problem-solvers, engineers, and changemakers.

Inside the lab, neatly arranged components awaited exploration – sensors, microcontrollers, circuit boards, wiring kits, LEDs, and structural elements. For many students, this space represented their first opportunity to engage deeply with real engineering tools. For the volunteers, it was a chance to step into the classroom not as corporate professionals, but as mentors and collaborators.

Following the inauguration, the program transitioned seamlessly into an engaging employee volunteering session. This hands-on segment brought energy and interaction into the room as volunteers and students gathered around workstations, ready to create something together. The chosen activity for the day was building an automated lamp – a project that beautifully blended electronics, logic, and practical application.

The activity began with a quick introduction to the concept of automation and how light sensors can detect environmental changes. Students confidently explained how the circuit would function: when ambient light decreases, the sensor triggers the lamp to turn on automatically. The volunteers listened intently, asking questions and sharing their own technical insights. What unfolded was not a one-sided teaching session, but a collaborative exchange of ideas.

As wires were connected and circuits assembled, the room buzzed with excitement. Volunteers worked side-by-side with students, testing connections, troubleshooting small issues, and celebrating incremental successes. When the first automated lamp lit up in response to reduced light, cheers filled the lab. It was a simple yet powerful moment – a glowing symbol of teamwork and experiential learning.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the session was the confidence displayed by the students. They guided the volunteers through the steps, explained the components with clarity, and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills when minor technical hiccups arose. The volunteers, in turn, appreciated the opportunity to see theory come alive in such a dynamic environment. Many expressed how refreshing it was to engage directly with young minds so passionate about innovation.

The volunteering session also strengthened bonds beyond the project itself. Conversations flowed naturally about career paths, emerging technologies, and the importance of continuous learning. Students asked insightful questions about working in technology-driven organizations, while volunteers shared stories from their professional journeys. These interactions added depth to the experience, making it both educational and inspirational.

As the day concluded, there was a shared sense of accomplishment in the room. The successful inauguration of the STEM Club Tinkering Lab and the engaging volunteering program together created a powerful impact.

The CSR team and employees reflected positively on the experience, appreciating the enthusiasm of the students and the structured approach of the program. Many expressed interest in returning for future sessions, eager to continue contributing to the students’ learning journey. For the school management, the event reaffirmed the value of industry partnerships in strengthening practical education.

The inauguration at Nethaji High School stands as a testament to what becomes possible when corporate support, educational institutions, and young talent come together with a shared purpose. It highlights the transformative potential of STEM education delivered through hands-on experiences. More than circuits and sensors, the lab represents confidence, curiosity, and capability.

As the automated lamps glowed at the end of the session, they illuminated more than just the room. They symbolized bright ideas taking shape and young innovators stepping confidently into the future.
